My first book by Deon Meyer. Listening is a little difficult at first to follow the characters because of their strange sounding names, but you catch on quick enough. The performance is really outstanding and well done Vance really makes you feel you are there. The story, as the title implies, takes place over 13 hours. Deon Godfrey Meyer is a South African thriller novelist, writing in Afrikaans. His books have been translated into more than 20 languages. (Thirteen Hours) were awarded to British producers Malcolm Kohll and Robert Fig. Roger Spottiswoode was appointed to direct the film. Thirteen Hours draws to a satisfying conclusion, with answers that prove surprising. You'll be glad that you invested your thirteen (or so) hours with this book. A note on the series: This is the second of Meyer's novels featuring Inspector Griessel, but you do not need to have read the first novel (Devil's Peak) in order to enjoy this one.
